My rambling thoughts on exercise and diet from a recent run. I shared this live Facebook video with our team and wanted to post it here in case this is a message you needed to hear.
Exercise has always come easy for me because I love the gym. I have an amazing Crossfit family of bad ass women that motivate, support and inspire me every day. But....I also love chips, cheeseburgers, french fries and chocolate!
I recently listened to Kevin Hart's motivational book The Decision (it's awesome but warning it's probably rated R - it's Kevin Hart after all!) He talks about the importance of fueling your body. His comment was something like "I want to be here to live this beautiful life I'm building."
So I've been working on changing my mindset and seeing eating healthy as a PRIVILEGE and not a RESTRICTION. I have the privilege of going to the store and buying any manner of healthy food I want, so why would I not? (My sweet husband was quick to point out that it's also a privilege to have all these amazing fast food restaurants near us, he can be such a brat!) Well, one week down and I've lost 5 pounds. And I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.
It's not art, but your health and fitness is important to your artsy business. You are building a beautiful, creative life and you want to be around to enjoy it.
